In my experience as a sysadmin, people tend to get testy when you're
not at your desk and there's a problem. Randomly being out, for
anywhere between 5-15 minutes, several times a day, usually means
that calls don't get answered, or they come to me, instead.
In my experience it is just being unreachable that is the problem. Time
spent at desk is irrelevant. They can always pick up the phone. That's
how it has been in any shop I've been in when we have had cell phones.
That goes double if they are company issued cell phones.
And with the slow but sure effort afoot to move towards telecommuting
this becomes even more true.
