I use gmail for mailing lists that I want to keep archived and want to be able
so search. This doesn't include any KPLUG lists. I don't trust google with any
of my private email. In fact if I send private email from google, I use my
private email address for a return address, to make sure that the responses
don't get back to gmail.

I am using and continue to use squirrelmail on my own server for my personal
mail. The search capabilities of gmail are irrelevant for my personal mail,
since I never search it anyway. Most of it gets read then deleted.

Is it paranoia if they really are out to get you?
