Of course, this would probably be pure overkill.
I have always been a fan of the totally submerged machine. Design a
waterproof case, put the mobo etc inside, and then fill it up with
silicone oil. That should transfer heat to the case to be radiated off
the outside of the case much more efficiently. Especially for something
like an appliance which you won't be opening up often. I am really tired
of squealing and dying fans. I had to replace the power supply in my
desktop at work just yesterday because the fan died. My home workstation
has already had the case fan replaced once and now needs a new chipset
fan. No moving air would be great. Less noise, less moving parts to fail.
