One thing with handbrake, is that if you have a device that plays an
http mpeg4 stream, you need to move the atom to the front of the file,
otherwise it can be awhile before the content starts. Found this out
when playing with a Sony BIVL. There's a patch that works against the
latest handbrake svn to "optimize" for http streaming.

program:

It is built out of the same pieces as mencoder and the dvd reading
libraries, with basically a nicer user shell around it.
