What happens when your DHCP lease expires? The duration of a lease isn't that long so it must happen often.
The only sane thing I can think of is that *nothing* happens until you try to ask for another lease such as during a reboot. The only flaw in this I can see for a greedy ISP is that if the client is a stable server then it may have uptimes of months.
