My T60 is a model 1953-DDU with the Intel video:
# lspci | grep -i vga
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML
Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
So it looks like you've got the ATI card.
I have found that adding something like the following to the "Device"
section of my xorg.conf enables the VGA output:
Option "MonitorLayout" "CRT,LFP"
Option "Clone" "true"
Option "DevicePresence" "true"
I'm not sure if this will work with the ATI video. I'm going to look
into the xrandr stuff that people are talking about here since that
seems quite a bit cleaner (no need to restart X to use a projector).
