I ran slackware as my first distro way back in 95 or so. It was loaned to me as a shoebox of 3.5" floppies with each disk set labeled by a letter. I got tired of doing everything for myself. I prefer to let the distro do the boring stuff for me so I can concentrate on the interesting stuff.
