Well, I do know everyone within range, because I've turned the transmit
low enough that it stays mostly within my yard. Wouldn't want those evil
RF waves getting into DJA's garage.
However, if I hadn't done that, my default reaction to people asking about
my network would not be "Go away, you scammer!"

Well, no, I go through the same evaluations I learned as a kid when
dealing with strangers. But the result of asking to use my wireless for a
bit is still likely to be yes.
