iTunes at least is perfectly happy to manipulate your non-DRM music,
however you want to get it.  Even services, like Amazon's mp3 purchaing can
integrate so that the songs are automatically added to iTunes.

As long as you don't buy from the Apple Music Store, iTunes can be just a
media manager.
