I've worked for that had any known problem with any product. Eventually,
in every case, it comes to bite them square in the ass.

Better to be honest about it, fix it ASAP, and forgo the ass biting.

If that is true then how come NO company as you say seems to do that?

I wouldn't say no company, I'd say none of the one's I work for.

It's a good question, and one I've struggled with. I think it's because (and I've heard this from Japanese corporations, including some recent partners and clients) US corporations are short sighted. The PHBs look at today and never tomorrow. They can't see that the decisions they make today that may net them a huge profit, will in the longer term bite them in the ass and decrease their potential long-term gain.

I've had trouble with projects in the past because I was looking at the long term and the future of the project or product. The PHBs were looking at getting it done and out the door NOW, no matter what the cost in the future. "We'll fix it later." does not work if it's fsck'd up enough that later never comes. My last company continues to make that mistake over and over again.
