It's also possible another WAP has shown up on your channel. Turn off yours
and see if another one is around. This happens to me a couple of times a
year. I've had the 2.4Ghz problem between the WAP and phones before, and
switching to 5Ghz phones helped greatly.

I don't know which Buffalo you're using. I'm using a WHR-G54S that's been
flashed with dd-wrt. I was having probs with another WAP always changing to
my channel. Finally had enough, and with dd-wrt I cranked the power all the
way up on the Bufflo. It'll run 250 mW, plenty of power to block out just
about anything.
