The CD player in my car plays MP3s, including in subdirectories. The
nifty thing is that as well as having a back and forward button to
switch tracks it has a button for changing which directory you're in.
So you name the directories with the name of the artist, say, or
genre. Once in the car you change to the directory you want and use
the other button for switching between tracks in that directory.
Instead of the player just massing them all into one lump.
