All,
What does everyone use to track servers and workstations and routers
and switches, etc ? Um... I think I am primarily interested in
applications that are platform independent, that do NOT use any agent on
the hosts and do not rely on SNMP, and are something smarter or more
flexible than a spreadsheet.
I am particularly interested in tracking which IPs are on what systems
and what systems the configuration of the systems (hardware and basic
system info like OS version) are for which customers/users. I am a
dedicated server host and we have outgrown our system.
Is the system you are using extensible, ie: can I add fields to each
record, etc.
I am on the verge of having an app developed for this, but I don't want
to reinvent the wheel.
Thanks,
Mike
