I'm kind of a guinea pig for our group at work, because I re-imaged my
windows machine when I started working on Linux. They have a Citrix-based
solution, but it didn't work very well for me. Most annoying is just the
timeout from inactivity. I've been remote desktopping into a windows
machine in the lab that I need anyway for debugging software.

It sounds like things are moving to VMs for the small number of windows
apps that Linux people need.

It just seemed like such a waste for that 4-cpu machine to sit there
occasionally running outlook.
