Quoting MattyJ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I can vouch for the craposity of Time Warner's HD offerings (at least
in the greater Los Angeles area.) The Motorola PVR they give you can
barely handle one HD stream at a time, either, much less two. They
don't have many national HD channels due to the capacity issue and
channels you think they'd focus some quality on (NBC) routinely skip,
pixelate, sound drops out for a second, etc.

I find that HD on Time Warner isn't that bad.. with a Tivo S3 (and an HD). Yeah, their box sucks.

Also, my dad had both TWC HD and UVerse at the same time, for a good two months ... they were both fighting for the business and let him go for free for a period. :) Uverse was noticeably more compressed. It was quite a huge difference. Everyone noticed it, even my grandparents who usually don't even see HD content or really care.

The whole reason he even brought Uverse in for a try was because he was so frustrated with all the issues he'd been having with TWC and channel 708 (HD CBS). The fact that he decided to stay with TWC in the end was a hard choice because he hated TWCs support, but it was that much worse on Uverse in general. He did stay with Uverse for his internet over Road Runner though.

Then there's the "only 1 HD channel at a time" issue.. that is/was just stupid (I know they're fixing that, or already did).
