I started with SLS (SoftLanding System), which was the precursor to
Slackware.  When the Linux world changed from a.out to elf, SLS didn't
survive very well.  Patrick cleaned it up, switched to elf, and called the
result Slackware.

I moved to Debian, though, once I got hooked on the idea of a real package
manager.
