Hey- it is starting to be worth re-asking a question I heard awhile
back: what are pros & cons of quad-core vs a pair of duals?

Power consumption is lower with a Quad than it is for a pair of Duos. A Quad uses 95 watts, a dual uses 65 watts. Real estate is lower on a board that takes a single Quad than on a board that takes dual Duos.

The thing you have to watch is if the chipset on the board can handle the memory throughput requirements of a quad. This board can, especially if it's over clocked.
