My only beef with FF 3.0 is that when I click a link in an email or IM or

of staying wherever it was and opening the url. Does anyone know how to
stop this?
That's a function of the window manager. The window manager would need
to keep track of the parent process of the new window, figure out which
windows are associated with it, and then draw the new window where the
parent currently resides. It seems possible but requires a lot of X
voodoo to make it work.

Well, altho a simple solution, you may not like it. But when you click
on your link, use [Ctrl][Alt][appropriateArrowKey] and stay in that
workspace until the new window appears, and then switch back. I have
done this many times. Alternatively, I right-click on the new item in
the taskbar and choose "Move to Workspace Up (or Left).
One time I accidentally discovered a shortcut key combination that moves
to an adjacent Workspace and drags the active window with me. And one
time, I was looking at key combo shortcuts (can't remember where) and
saw that there was a way to send the active window to a Workspace by
number. I think I need to learn that one (if I can find it again) for
an easy and quick way to banish windows that think it's OK to popup and
steal my typing focus. (I'd like to banish the person(s) responsible
for such behavior.)

It [appears] that however certain forms of government are better
calculated than others to protect individuals in the free exercise of
their natural rights, and are at the same time themselves better guarded
against degeneracy, yet experience [has] shown that, even under the best
forms, those entrusted with power have, in time and by slow operations,
perverted it into tyranny.
