It's actually a very fundamental difference in Opera from other
browsers. When you exit opera and restart with the same tabs, it
remembers the whole state of those windows, not just the URL. It
_doesn't_ reload the pages unless they have expired, which means that
the annoying crashes opera used to have so much weren't nearly as bad.
Also, "Back" still works in opera after a restart, or restoring an
accidentally deleted tab.

Ditto for the SessionSaver plugin for FF (at least for my crusty old 1.5
version). SessionSaver also includes a "SnapBack Tab" item in the Tools
menu for recovering closed tabs.
