I routinely lock up my Mac and Linux desktop machine. MTBF is ~1 month. My Linux /servers/ tend to stay up for a long time. Mostly, they get rebooted after applying security updates. My Blade 100 running Solaris 8 has been up for over a year (it's time to shut it down, take it apart, and clean out the dust). I've been logged in for over a year as well... > Oh yeah, and: C++ SUCKS. :-) > > Glad more people talk about that openly now. Even in the 90s. > One more: > JAVA SUCKS! > > Hmmmm, that felt good. Java's best feature is that it isn't C++. Generics changed that. Java is becoming C++ like. This is not an improvement. > I was thinking about getting that put on a T-shirt... Maybe wear it to > JavaOne. All hardware sucks. All software sucks. Down, not across. -- Motto of ASR -- Java is the second worst programming language. All the rest are tied for first.
