C++ in early 90's != C++ today

It's hard to think of a way that developing in C++ in the early 90's
didn't suck, much like developing in Java in the mid 90's.

As Andrew pointed out, there are plenty of subtle gotchas and lots of
things to know. I don't really see too many projects that wouldn't be
better done in C#, C or, if CPU performance is not an issue, Python.

And programming in the gaming industry would suck no matter what
language you use.

How come?
