In attempting to use a USB2.0/IEEE1394 firewire external Acom 120 Gig hard disk
on my Suse 9.2 operating system
messages appear in the /var/log/messages file:

Mar 5 23:28:19 linux kernel: ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node

lsmod shows:

ohci1394 37764 0
ieee1394 116536 2 sbp2,ohci1394
ohci_hcd 25604 0
usbcore 120164 7 usb_storage,usbserial,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd,ohci_hcd
sbp2 27912 0
scsi_mod 121412 7 usb_storage,sbp2,sg,st,sr_mod,aic7xxx,sd_mod

so what's wrong? Suse 9.2 cannot see my drive, but why not? I'd like to get
this working.
