I suspect that your hardware is not supported properly, or not
recognized properly by the ieee1394 driver. Have you checked a
hardware compatibility list, or read through the source code for the
module, to see if there is(n't) support for the chipset on your
device. The errors look similar to those I've seen from other
unsupported devices that weren't ieee1394. Looks like it's trying to
enable the device, but the device is responding in unexpected ways.
