If your 11Mb 802.11b connection isn't as fast as your COX connection, then you have a LOT faster COX connection than normal home users where it's around 3Mb.
802.11b has more range then g. My point was that he doesn't even have or need wireless now, but I was recommending picking up a wireless router/firewall combo, vs. just wired for future use.
