A word of note, or possibly a question for the price-conscious Myth users. I tried out MythTV on my 800MHz orig. Athlon box. Naturally, it was an extra box I had laying around (possibly of dubious quality), but I was disappointed to find out that this box did not be quite harness enough horsepower to use MythTV smoothly. I did try recording and playback asynchronously, recording without compression, check for dma on my hardrive, 256MB RAM, but still not enough to get smooth video.
