No.  I do that sort of thing to other people all the time at
InstallFests.  That is, install Linux as dual-boot on a Windows
machine.

The problem, which I have apparently just solved, is to make the W98
installer work on an emulated system.   It seems necessary that the
disk image file to which W98 will be installed has a valid partition
table, and is otherwise completely blank except for a FAT file system.
 I used FAT16 because I am working on a small 1GB disk image.
