This started out as a snide reply to Neil, but grew into something actually
worth sending. Time and thought invariably lead to better email. :)

Moderators:

If you'd rather not bother with (or be bothered by) list moderation request
emails, then ask (here) to be removed from the moderation and/or owner
lists for all the mailing lists. Likewise, if you'd like to assist in the
moderation process, or have stopped receiving moderation request emails and
think you should be getting them, again, ask here.

Additionally, John has informed me that he's cleaned up the ownder/moderator
properties of all the lists so they all match now.

Now, regarding KPLUG and management of sparkplug.kernel-panic.org and the
services thereon:

I think what's making this painful for us is that there's no clear
definitions of who's responsible for what on sparkplug. At the risk of
being shouted down for being a beaurocrat, I think we actually need to
create some organizational structure for management of sparkplug, and some
clear policies on notifying others of changes made to the club's
server/services.

I'd be happy to take on the role of "Friendly Neighborhood
BOFH^H^H^H^HSysAdmin" if the other members are happy with it. Between the
mailing lists and the web site, there's honestly not all that much to do in
terms of maintenance, and I tend to be more easily reached than Josh.

I would like to say, though, that Josh has done an admirable job of getting
everything going, especially with the new OS install, migration to Plone
for the website and Mailman for the lists. All this in his spare time
outside of work and home life, too.

Basically, if we created the position of "KPLUG SysAdmin", I'd be happy to
fill it, barring any other members' objections, since I tend to hear about
all the niggling kplug sysadminny problems anyway. :)

Thoughts?

Gregory
