To raise the canopy height, you'll need to raise the aft deck for sure. You can potentially keep the forward deck the same but will also need to modify your current canopy frame. Could be a lot of work but certainly doable. The KR Manual gave a pretty good description during building on how to do this. Sit in the airplane and get someone to measure the height you want above your head at where you want your roof. Built a aft deck forward template at that height and put foam in between it and your tail, sand and fiberglass. I followed the manual, worked for me. I have a side opening canopy and do not plan to change it.
