Hi Pat I wasn't trying to scare anyone ,-I had a side opener with double latch and never had a problem. All I was saying was that as Ben has to modify his canopy to take a longer pilot,he might as well go for the front hinged arrangement. Then ,all he has to do is tilt the aft end up to suit his height and contour the turtle deck to match. Having been in aircraft engineering all my working life I am well aware of Mr Murphy and his law, so - if improper latching can be done ,sooner or later some poor bugger will do it! Mac
