Which Sonerai would you be able to fly? I suspect that a low wing version is quite similar to a KR2s. However, my only point if comparison is the differences between my somewhat tricky Sonerai I and a Corvair powered KR2S. Between those two, the KR is the easier plane to fly and land.
If you can get Sonerai time, do so. I any time in a highly maneuverable aircraft is going to help.
