No one was ever blamed, but we did have a new A&P on the field. In my 
opinion, he was responsible. I never understood why that clamp was 
loose. I was the one who found the problem, I went and opened the cowl 
to see what was wrong. I was working at the time as ground manager for a 
3 aircraft banner towing operation.  This was in 1999. 9/11/01 put us 
and several other operators out of business. Shortly thereafter, I was 
grounded with health issues and haven't flown since.

That situation has stuck in my mind. I have looked closely at a number 
of Experimental aircraft since and without exception, they have been 
better engineered then a certified commercial aircraft.
