Craig,

B&C Makes a good product and Bill does a good job of supporting his product 
line.  This alternator should work well, but it eliminates the option of using 
the tach drive for a transducer for your tachometer and also eliminates using 
the engine mounted spin on oil filter adapter for this engine. But, if you are 
sure you won't be using either of these, then it's a good product to use.  

You might also note that Plane Power makes an internally regulated 60 Amp belt 
driven alternator that won't interfere with other accessories for less $$ ($458 
@Aircraft Spruce).  I used this model on my SC project and have been happy with 
it.
