Bear in mind that I have not used them in the air yet, but I've been a MegaSquirt family fan for many years. The fact that one can have the computer automagically build it's own 3D tables (on the ground) or I can copy them from elsewhere or build them by hand is a really big attraction. Plus, they are the lowest cost solution out there. I can build them myself or buy them already completed for not much more money, under $400 total. Install a Wideband O2 detector (or 2 or 4 or...) and get the very best fuel efficiencies and max power possible. They have come a long way from their first offerings. They can even handle the coil-per-plug design without breaking a sweat (I LUST after an LS-3 engine...) You can tinker with all the engine parameters to your hearts content -- or not, just set it and forget it.
