Bear in mind that I have not used them in the air yet, but I've been a
MegaSquirt family fan for many years.  The fact that one can have the
computer automagically build it's own 3D tables (on the ground) or I can
copy them from elsewhere or build them by hand is a really big
attraction.  Plus, they are the lowest cost solution out there.  I can
build them myself or buy them already completed for not much more money,
under $400 total.  Install a Wideband O2 detector (or 2 or 4 or...) and
get the very best fuel efficiencies and max power possible.  They have
come a long way from their first offerings.  They can even handle the
coil-per-plug design without breaking a sweat (I LUST after an LS-3
engine...)  You can tinker with all the engine parameters to your hearts
content -- or not, just set it and forget it.
