I used the firewall because I figured that it was the least likely point to change, like tip of spinner that may change every time your old spinner cracks up and get's replaced. I don't think the spread sheet really cares if the numbers you put in are positive or negative. It will always give you the right answer if the formula is correct. On a tri-gear, anything forward of the firewall is negative.
