I tried a system that was welded into my car's exhaust that drew vacuum from
the flow of the exhaust gas downstream from my manifolds and later headers.
This was often enough to evacuate the blow-by when at higher throttle settings,
but no where near enough at idle or lower settings. You need a much more
consistent flow of air through the venturi to draw the vacuum you need.

Fairing one inside your cowl sounds interesting though..I also wonder if anyone
else has done this. Remember though, warmer air-no matter the source, is less
dense, and will result in less flow through the venturi, and a reduction in
vacuum produced. If this will cause a reduction that will affect the
instruments, I have no idea.

  Subject: KR>Vacuum Source

  Netters,
I'm looking for a cleaner way of mounting a 4 in
vacuum venturi. It appears that Steve Jones' setup is
effective, as far as providing ample vacuum, but I
think there's gotta be a cleaner way to do this.
