Yes, Lucite is the material of choice for windows and windshields. It is not
as strong as glass.  Lexan scratches easily.  And, don't get ant high
solvent materials around the Lucite, such as some aerosol spray paints.

Make sure the stuff from Lowe's is Lucite (methyl methacrylate) and NOT
Styrene.
