I did my part for the extraordinary effort to fly this weekend. I had my
engine removed from the plane on Tuesday evening and started taking it
apart in the evenings and mornings the rest of the week. I received a new
crank shaft from WW on Friday. At 9 pm Friday I finished the tear down
and started the rebuild with a nitride crank. I worked until 10 pm
Saturday stopping for breakfast, lunch, and supper with the kids. 7 am
today a couple more hours before Church and a couple more after Church
and it was off to the airport. The engine is back on the plane and
basically reinstalled. Another couple hours tonight to prime the oil,
check timing and make sure everything is tight. Then I should be ready to
run it to check for leaks in the morning and if that is good it will be
first flight time tomorrow.
