<Depending on the year of the 172 ? All the old ones would max out at about
118mph much less 135 knots !! I am not sure a new 172 could do the 135 knots>

We would agree that it was a scary event
Me and my buddy that i helped build his Glasair had a simmular event happen to
us at Lake Whales airport.we were flying into Lake Whales {Florida} in the
glasair and a friend of ours was giveing a ride to a friend of his in a
grumman we almost hit him head on we peeled out to the right just in time to
miss him it scared both of us pretty badly when we got on he ground we talked
to our friend in the grumman and he didn't even see us.He was looking at the
instruments and wasn't even looking outside. that is how things happen in the
air or on the ground people does't pay attention
