Mark You should place diodes inline for each negative trigger lead anyhow just in case WW is right and the tach shorts down causing ignition failure. The diode would not only allow for only one wire to be run both tachs, with a y-split in it, but would also prevent trigger from each coil firing the other and the tach grounding the whole system if it failed.

Mark: Do not put a jumper between them as it will short the two ignitions together. The safest way is to switch the tach wire when you switch the ignition. That requires a separate deck on the switch but is the safest and most reliable.
