I'm bolting on a 220 lbs or so Corvair engine onto a WOODEN firewall at six point. I don't think I need to worry about the strength differences of a MS or a NAS bolt. I would be more concerned about the corrosion inhibiting factors and what type of nut retention system I would use.Just my thought.

I agree, in general. Just arguing the numbers though, if the AN bolt has a tensile strength of 125,000 psi, a quick search of the data for grade 5 fine thread 5/16 bolts (coarse thread is a little less) shows a tensile strength of about 120,000 psi, so 4% lower tensile strength. Don't get me wrong though... for an engine mount, it should be AN hardware... not Ace Hardware.
