Mark,
Many brands of epoxies come in uses for laminating and structural purposes. The finish resins will have a trace amount of wax added to the resin; The wax will form on the surface to preclude moisture in the air from becoming absorbed in the curing resin. This trace Wax in the cured resin does not effect the end strength. All epoxy resins are hydroscopic. The moisture gets in the way and keeps the resin and hardener molecules from linking together. The usual laminating resins do not have the wax additive. The intent is to do all the layups with the laminating resin and make the top layup with the finish resin; all layups would be done at one session. If you cannot do the layups in one session, then use finish resins for one layup and cure at a time. You must remove the wax layer before sticking anything else to the cured resin. That goes for another layer of fiberglass or primer paint. Easily done by wiping with a rag wetted with MEK. For best results wipe again with MEK using a clean rag the second time. There is a commercial product called No-Sand. It is mostly MEK. Most delamination and/or paint pealing issues are due to contamination from left over wax, oily finger prints, etc. left between the layers.

If you use Dacron/peal ply on top of a layup, the wax layer comes off when you peal off the peal ply.

Concur with using heat to drive out the trapped moisture. Be sure to support the fiberglass, spars, etc. during the heating process so that it does not sag.

Caution: Wear rubber gloves, not latex, when handling MEK. MEK is absorbed through the skin and will do cumulative damage to the Liver.

I am using Aeropoxy to lay up my glass. After I laid up the bottom of the left stub wing and stabilizer the lay up remains tacky even after a week of curing. The lay up has dried hard but just has this tackiness to the surface. Any suggestions to remove the tackiness? And yes I am weighing the mix according to instructions of 100/27 by weight or 3/1 volume.
Thanks

Is it cold or humid? You may want to try a heat lamp to get rid of the tackiness.

I've used both fresh & stale AeroPoxy 2032 w/ 3660 hardner and only experienced what you describe when either temp or humidity aren't optimal.
