Larry, You are correct in that under pressure from another pump, the second pump should seat and shouldn't leak. If it does, the backflow would be more of a drip at the most. However, under very light pressure, like the head pressure from a header tank, the internal piston won't seat and the facet pumps will slowly backflow at the rate of a steady drip.
