The belly board on my old KR was 30 x 6 inch. I had the original retract gear and limited ground clearance. I remember little pitch change if any when deployed. The board was mounted right in front of the rear spar and would go down just short of 90 degrees. It sure made landings more manageable, and I could still climb with it deployed if I botched the landing. I flew that plane 20 years without the belly board, but it is something I should have done right up front. My current KR has plans built flaps and they are not as effective as the belly board and do cause a real nose down pitch change when fully deployed.

Subject: KR> belly boards

Hi Guys
For anyone using a belly board on their KR's I would like to know what size they have, is it the right size (opinion) and a debate that I remember from many years ago ...with holes in it or not to have holes . I will be flipping Dr. Deans over in the next week or so and want to finish everything on the bottom.
Thank you in advance
Joe Horton,
