Anthony,

I typically stay at Camp Scholar in a tent. The earlier you get there, the
better the camping spot you can get. There is a bus shuttle service to main
gates if you end up camping far away from the main grounds.

Yes, there is a cost to camp and I do recommend you read up on the
AirVenture web site Larry F noted. The cost is not bad, $28 to camp per
night - minimum charge of 3 days. They do ask for the money up front to pay
for the entire week, but if you only stay a couple days you get reimbursed
when you check out.

It is a very friendly campground with great atmosphere. There is a Red Barn
for purchasing anything you might have forgotten.

Generators are allowed during the day, but have to be shut off at night - 10
pm. That way folks can get some sleep.

The tickets to Airventure itself are paid for separate. I always get the
weekly ticket, but there are options to pay per day. Being an EAA member
does offset the cost of the tickets.

I will be there all week myself. I signed up to work at the Home Builders
Headquarters, so if you see me say hello. My airplane will be parked out of
the HQ, in the Automotive Engine Row typically.

See you there!

Subject: KR>Excited to meet you all at Oshkosh!

I'll be attending Oshkosh for the first time this year and planned the trip
around the KR2 owners and builders forum on Monday. I am very interested in
this little plane and would like to buy one someday soon. I will be driving
this year and was wondering if anyone had any pointers that would make
things easier on a first timer and on which campgrounds to stay at. I was
thinking about staying at onsite campgrounds with my camper. Do you know if
generators are allowed? Thank bunches.

Anthony
