A crimp with a quality tool, an adequate pull test, and limit the wire movement should be sufficient.  Wire movement can cause a break in the wire right at the terminal.  We get in many battery chargers that turn on with no output.  The first thing I do is to do a "weight lifters" pull test on the battery clip.  Nine times out of ten the clip pulls off.  The problem I've found with solder connections is if wire movement is no controlled, the wire is brittle and breaks at the connector.  A good crimp and limit movement will eliminate "right sized" wire failures.
