I told my friend about my sharing the "one size larger" opinion here in kr net, and my friend, the other old guy says " They (engineers)  just don't get it, if you want it to last it has to be beefier than code (minimum)."  then he raised his voice " It's the MINIMUM!".

"One size larger" would not have much of an impact on a project our size but how much more would a 747 weigh with the "one size larger" application?  It now carries 3,500 pounds of wire.  "One size larger" I'm sure would add the weight of several passengers. I've worked on electronic equipment for 55+ years and it very seldom that the "correct" wire size fails but for overheating and physical damage. Even "one size larger" will fail under those conditions.

Go with what makes you happy.................
