Thanks for your comments Mike. I do seem to remember that there was info in the 
newsletters on modifying the downlock to make it more secure.  How you would 
stiffen the crossbar after it is installed I would not be so sure about.  Just 
looking at the ground stance, it seems to me that the fixed gear gives a higher 
nose angle and has a better chance of allowing a full stall three point landing.
