Hi Alan, 1. You should be able to run if it has exe permission. Please check whether it's https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381675. 2. Discover browsing by arrows (left and right, up and down). If you're using v2.7, you can press right arrow to enter the dir. If you want to run an executable, you have to press Esc first — this is by design. 3. This is probably because KDE editors (Kate part in the case) don't edit files in place but they create a new file and then move it to the editing file path. If you use KWrite or Kate directly, is this happening or not? 4. Yes, check out Panel -> General -> Tabs in Settings.
