It occurred to me that I may be misleading with that statement. The 7.10 system is a different machine than the 8.04 system. Here are the diffs that I can think of: 7.10 Laptop running latest security and recommended updates for 7.10 I can connect to the VPN when using 802.11 or ethernet to my home router. 8.04 Desktop running latest security and recommended updates for 8.04 Connected to my home router via ethernet Was recently re-installed from Kubuntu 7.10 Wouldn't connect with Kubuntu either, but I think it was a different problem. IIRC, it was complaining about not being behind a firewall. Router is a NetGear WGR614 v6. Thanks, Rob
