The funny thing was, in the hour I was there the central closet was not
readily apparent! We looked in two stairwells and two central hallways.
(This visit was on my time).

You know me,  I gots da tracing tools (RF tracer and tdr's), but I told them
it's do-able but I would need to put probably 2 to 3 hours tracing time, not
to mention knocking a hole in their ceiling or wall when I figure out that
that is where the junctions are.

Or the other option, of course, put new wires in... same time problems.

An advantage of the 4000b,  all of their existing jacks will still work with
any of the phones they already have...
AND I didn't realize, the 4000b comes with 20 minutes battery backup built
into the base. I hadn't seen that before.   Intercom paging maybe the only
thing they have to do without, seems like they don't mind shouting a bit
anyway (apartment is not spread out).
